Parameters |
Type |
Description |
Example |
|---|---|---|---|
capacity_basis |
string |
Provenance of facility_capacity: reported by the project, estimated by SynMax, or unknown. Values are lowercase and limited to the three listed. |
estimated |
country |
string |
Country where the facility is located |
United States |
created_at |
string |
Date on which the record was first created |
2026-09-21 |
date_completed |
string |
Date on which the unit was deemed structurally complete based on satellite observations. Null while construction is ongoing, which is the usual case for a unit whose vulcan_status is “Confirmed”. |
None |
date_construction_start |
string |
Start date of construction based on satellite observations. Null where construction has not been observed to begin, which is how a monitored unit is distinguished from an unmonitored one. |
2026-03-01 |
date_first_structures |
string |
Date on which the first permanent structures were observed |
2026-03-01 |
date_image |
string |
Date of the latest available satellite image |
2026-09-18 |
date_land_cleared |
string |
Date on which land clearing was first observed. Typically precedes date_construction_start. |
2025-09-09 |
date_planned_operation |
string |
Planned online date for this unit as reported by the project. Independent of the vulcan_*_online fields, which are satellite-derived projections. |
2028-01-01 |
date_reviewed_image |
string |
Date on which the latest satellite image was reviewed by an analyst |
2026-09-20 |
date_vulcan_status_change |
string |
Date on which vulcan_status last changed for this unit |
2026-09-21 |
facility_capacity |
number |
Capacity of this UNIT, expressed in facility_capacity_unit. Not a facility total: sum across the units of a facility, and only when they share a unit of measure. |
35000 |
facility_capacity_unit |
string |
Unit of measure for facility_capacity, as a lowercase short code. The unit varies by facility_type, so never infer it from the number alone and never assume two facilities share a unit. Known codes: wpm (wafers per month), mtpa (million tonnes per annum), tpa (tonnes per annum), mw (megawatts), bcfd (billion cubic feet per day), kbd (thousand barrels per day). This list is not exhaustive and is not an enum, since new project types introduce new codes; clients should look up the code for display and fall back to rendering it verbatim when unrecognised, never dropping it or substituting a default unit. |
wpm |
facility_id |
integer |
Unique identifier of the industrial facility. Shared by every unit of that facility. |
103 |
facility_name |
string |
Name of the industrial facility, excluding any phase or unit designator — that lives in unit_name. Identical across all units of a facility. |
Amkor Peoria |
facility_type |
string |
Industrial sector of the facility — e.g. “semiconductor manufacturing”, “ammonia”, “steel”. Free text; not a fixed enumeration. |
semiconductor manufacturing |
latitude |
number |
Latitude of the facility in decimal degrees. Shared by all units of a facility. |
33.771869 |
longitude |
number |
Longitude of the facility in decimal degrees. Shared by all units of a facility. |
-112.259839 |
modified_at |
string |
Version date of the record. Acts as the vintage: each ingestion writes a new set of rows stamped with its own modified_at. |
2026-09-21 |
observation |
string |
Analyst note recorded when reviewing the latest satellite imagery |
structures visible |
owner_name |
string |
Owner or operator of the industrial facility |
Amkor Technology |
synmax_id |
string |
Stable key for a unit, formed as {facility_id}-{unit_id}. Unique per unit but NOT unique per row: it repeats once per version. Combine with modified_at for a unique row key. |
103-1 |
total_wpi |
number |
Cumulative weekly progress indicator for this unit across the construction period. Zero is a valid value. |
42.5 |
unit_id |
integer |
Identifier of the unit (phase) within the facility. Unique within a facility, not globally. |
1 |
unit_name |
string |
Name of the unit (phase) within the facility, as reported by the project — e.g. “Phase 1 Fab”, “Fab 2”, “Mod 1”, “ID1”. Null for single-unit facilities, where the facility name alone identifies the project. |
Phase 1 Fab |
vulcan_earliest_online |
string |
Earliest date the unit is projected to be operational, derived from observed construction progress. Always on or before vulcan_median_online. |
2027-02-26 |
vulcan_latest_online |
string |
Latest date the unit is projected to be operational. Always on or after vulcan_median_online. |
2028-08-21 |
vulcan_median_online |
string |
Median projected operational date for the unit |
2027-12-27 |
vulcan_status |
string |
Satellite-verified construction status of the unit — e.g. “Confirmed”, “Identified”, “Completed”, “Operational”, “none”. Free text; not a fixed enumeration. |
Confirmed |
weekly_progress_indicator |
number |
Construction progress observed for this unit in the latest week. Zero and null are both valid and mean different things: 0 means imagery was available and reviewed and no progress was observed, which is the expected value for a unit that is dormant between milestones, while null means no new imagery was available for the period, so progress could not be assessed and nothing is implied about whether work occurred. Clients must not coalesce null to zero, because doing so reports a confident ‘no progress’ where there was in fact no observation; when charting a series, render null as a gap rather than a point on the axis. |
